Job summary

GROWMARK, Inc. through Evergreen FS in Metamora, IL is seeking an Agronomy Associate to train in all aspects of the agronomy department, including sales and operations, and to develop territory knowledge and targeted programs for increased market share.

Ideal candidates hold an associates degree in agriculture, marketing or business with 1–2 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel; CDL within the first year and certifications (CCA, Commercial Applicator)

Qualifications

• Associates’ Degree in agriculture, marketing or business or equivalent plus 1–2 years related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to travel daily with occasional overnight stays.
• CDL license within first year of employment.
• Ability to obtain CCA and Commercial Applicator certifications.
• Willingness to work extended hours when needed.
• Ability to lift 51–75 lbs and work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Train and learn all aspects of the agronomy department, including sales and operations.
• Develop territory and competitive analysis to understand the market.
• Meet goals as set by supervisor.
• Learn to create and recommend agronomy programs for targeted accounts.
• Use seed, precision farming technology, finance and other tools to grow market share.
• Collaborate with Crop Specialist on agronomy projects.
• Develop target marketing plans and sales techniques and manage contacts.
• Assist with patron meetings to build relationships and drive sales.
• Operate application equipment and assist with deliveries and crop protection mixes.
• Support precision farming programs and department procedures.
• Attend meetings and training sessions.
