Job summary

Clemson University in Florence, SC is seeking a temporary staff member to assist the State Cotton Specialist with ongoing field, greenhouse, and lab projects at Pee Dee REC.

You will collect plant and soil samples, help with planting, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting research plots, and perform safe laboratory analyses. This position requires a high school diploma; an associate degree in related agriculture may substitute. This is a 37.5-hour week role with a September deadline.

Qualifications

• Experience in agricultural research or animal care related to employment area preferred.
• Fundamental concepts in agricultural research and lab safety are desirable.

Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements

A high school diploma and experience in agricultural research or animal care that is directly related to the area of employment. An associate degree in animal health technology or a discipline related to agriculture may be substituted for the required work experience.

Compensation Information

Expected Salary Range
$15.00/hour - $17.00/hour
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

Essential Personnel Level

Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
