Plans and conducts the more complex agricultural research projects or directs the operations of a laboratory animal facility.
20% - Equipment Maintenance: Operates and maintains agricultural equipment used in experimental projects and rotational crops. Assists with calibration and makes minor repairs on equipment. Maintains equipment in clean/optimal condition. 30% - Irrigation Management: Assist Farm Manager with programming, moving, and operating irrigation pivots and laterals and coordination/communication among users to meet the needs of faculty research projects. 50% - Crop Research: Assists with experimental projects and revenue crops through field preparation, planting, fertilization, cultivation, spraying, harvesting, and data collection. Monitors ongoing experiments and revenue crops to determine need for pest and weed control, takes proactive measures to ensure health of crop, and communicates with project leaders to maintain viability of research projects.

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Emergency Response - In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
