Assist Senior Research Scientist in the Cotton Genetics and Brassica Oil Seed Crops program with ongoing projects at Pee Dee REC to include field, greenhouse, and lab responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES

• 15% - Perform assigned greenhouse duties such as potting, watering, and measuring accurately.
• 20% - Assist staff in data analysis and chemical management.
• 50% - Assist with planting, fertilizing, spraying, sampling, and harvesting of research plots.
• 15% - Perform laboratory analysis of research samples following the protocols and the proper safety manuals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A high school diploma.

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Salary Range $13 per hour - $15 per hour

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
