Virginia Tech Agricultural Technician position involves operating a tractor, planter/no-till drill, chainsaws and various farm implements. Responsibilities include making hay and harvesting crops, performing minor facilities maintenance and fence repair.
You will work with cattle, calving, breeding and moving cattle, and perform other tasks to support AREC operations and abide by Virginia Tech policies. A criminal conviction check is required.
Under the direction of the Superintendent and/or Farm Manager the Agricultural Technician will be responsible for operating a tractor, planter/no-till drill, chainsaws and various farm implements. Making hay, harvesting crops, minor facilities maintenance and fence repair. Experience working with cattle, calving, breeding and moving cattle. Perform other tasks as assigned for the overall operation of the AREC policies pertaining to the general maintenance of all vehicles, equipment and implements and informs the Superintendent and/or Farm Manager of problems that arise. Virginia Tech is unable to sponsor work visas for this position.
