About the Role Our client, a major player in the agricultural products industry, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Agricultural Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize their supply chain operations in the Upington, Northern Cape region. This critical role involves managing the end-to-end flow of agricultural goods, from procurement of raw materials to delivery of finished products, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of agricultural logistics, inventory management, transportation, and supplier relationship management. You will be responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategies that enhance operational performance, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery to meet market demands. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire agricultural supply chain, including procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
• Develop and implement efficient supply chain strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
• Oversee the transportation of agricultural goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to customers and markets.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, service providers, and logistics partners.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers and transportation companies to secure favorable pricing and service levels.
• Implement and manage inventory control systems to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize wastage.
• Monitor supply chain performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols within the supply chain.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in supply chain management.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production, sales, and finance, to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage and develop a team of supply chain professionals and operational staff.
• Utilize supply chain management software and technology to enhance efficiency and visibility.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a significant focus on the agricultural sector.
• Proven experience in managing agricultural logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of agricultural commodities, seasonality, and related supply chain challenges.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., ERP systems, WMS) and MS Office Suite.
