• Bachelor’s degree required in SCM, Logistics, Business Administration, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in agriculture.
• Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, procurement, and distribution.
• Experience managing complex, perishable-supply chains is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and leadership abilities.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Agricultural Supply Chain Manager to optimize the flow of goods from farm to market for their operations based in East London, Eastern Cape . This role is critical for ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality throughout the agricultural supply chain. You will be responsible for managing logistics, inventory, procurement, and distribution channels, working closely with farmers, processors, transporters, and retailers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of agricultural products, supply chain best practices, and the unique challenges of managing perishable goods. This hybrid role involves both remote coordination of supply chain activities and on-site supervision at various facilities and farms in and around East London . Your expertise will be vital in enhancing operational performance, reducing waste, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality agricultural products to consumers.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the agricultural supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to final product delivery.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Manage inventory levels, logistics, warehousing, and transportation networks.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of agricultural inputs.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, logistics providers, and other supply chain partners.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations.
• Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, including quality control and food safety issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with specific experience in the agricultural sector.
• Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, procurement, and distribution.
• Proven experience in managing complex supply chains, preferably involving perishable goods.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
