The role requires proven machinery experience, basic mechanical knowledge, a valid driver's license, and willingness to work long hours including weekends and holidays in a hands-on farm environment.

About the Role

This role is essential for ensuring the efficient planting, cultivation, and harvesting of crops. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining a range of heavy machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and plows, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agricultural practices and a commitment to safety and productivity on the farm. This is a hands‑on position that plays a critical part in the success of the agricultural cycle in the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, plows, planters, harvesters, and other farm machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on all agricultural equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow planting, cultivating, and harvesting schedules as directed by farm management.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify any mechanical issues requiring attention.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while operating machinery.
• Assist with general farm labor and other duties as needed during peak seasons.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an agricultural equipment operator or in a similar role.
