Job summary

H2ajobs in Nebraska is seeking a farm laborer to operate agricultural equipment, haul livestock manure from storage, and apply it to fields as organic fertilizer. You will drive trucks and spreaders and assist with equipment maintenance.

Housing is employer-provided and meals are available; travel is reimbursed under H-2A rules. This is a hands-on outdoor role with weather exposure and a minimum of 3 months’ experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate agricultural equipment.
• Experience with manure handling is a plus.
• Willingness to perform outdoor labor in all weather conditions.

Job description

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Worker will be required to operate agricultural equipment to haul livestock manure from storage sites and apply it to crop fields as an organic fertilizer.

Operate trucks and spreaders to transport manure from feedlots to fields

Use manure spreaders to apply manure

Assist with general maintenance and servicing of equipment like lubrication, cleaning of equipment and minor repairs.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Housing provided to the workers has a fully equipped kitchen where they can prepare and cook their own meals three times a day. The kitchen is fully functional and equipped with appliances such as stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher - all in working condition. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary utensils for prepping and cooking food. Adequate sinks with the warm and cold water under pressure. The employer will ensure that workers have access to a grocery store at least once a week to purchase their own food/produce. Workers have access to vehicles to drive themselves to the grocery stores from the house to the stores and back.

Transport: The Employer will, as per H2A regulations, reimburse the worker for travel cost, including daily subsistence rates stipulated at the time, from the worker's place of residence to the workplace, and upon contract completion, from the workplace back to the worker's place of residence at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charge for the distance involved, for example return bus and or airfare.
