Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking agricultural equipment operators in Vermont to perform winter snow removal, greenhouse upkeep, and seasonal farm tasks. The role includes operating snowplows and shovels, de-icing water lines, and maintaining tractors and tools.

Applicants should be at least 18, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and willing to work variable hours with possible weekend/holiday shifts. Employer-provided housing and meals are included, with transportation options to grocery stores as needed.

Job description

Duties may include: Clear snow using snowplow, shovels, and skid steer loader. Remove snow from greenhouses using push brooms and roof clearing tools, keep greenhouse heating units clear of snow. De-ice water lines during extreme cold periods. Clean and service all tractors, field implements, and small equipment used in growing season. Workers may be asked to drive between fields with trucks and equipment. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license; no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a driver's license. Maintain greenhouses by washing/disinfecting all benches, tools, pots, greenhouse structures, including poly covering and associated equipment. Perform seasonal cleaning of other buildings, including barns, storage sheds, and housing units as needed to prepare for growing season & other related Agricultural Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org)

Number of hours each week and daily work schedule may fluctuate depending on weather conditions.

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections. All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food. Otherwise, 3 meals per day will be provided to those workers who do not have access to free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities (all workers who are residing in public accommodations). All meals will include a daily source of protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved in traveling (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the pl...
