Job summary

C & B Operations in Mitchell, SD is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair agricultural equipment for customers and dealer-owned assets. You will perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on John Deere and competitive equipment, while keeping detailed notes and timecards.

The role emphasizes knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, teamwork, safety, and continuous learning through on-the-job training; overtime may be required, with a strong focus on

Qualifications

• Associate or better in Diesel Technology or related field preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands and exertion requirements.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of repair methods for machinery, engines and related equipment.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Critical thinking and resourcefulness to complete tasks.
• Willingness to learn and train in new technologies.
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs.
• Valid driver's license with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural farm equipment
• Participates in training programs for skill development
• Completes all job notes for work assignments
• Accounts for all time on a digital timecard and for all material used
• Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitors
• Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Promotes and sells service work, inspections and parts to customers
• Follows all safety procedures and works safely
• Assists with other duties as assigned
