Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Open to Sophomore or Junior year of college.
• Customer service or banking experience encouraged.
• Enrolled in Agriculture or Finance program preferred.
• Able to work flexible hours and shifts.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Learn the loan application process for varying loan types.
• Observe the underwriting process for varying loan types.
• Analyze financial information such as statements, management accounts, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain loan files for proper documentation and closure in accordance with bank policy.
• Provide a high level of customer service and act as a liaison between client and bank operations.
• Learn the process for making recommendations on risks of extending credit to each client.
• Understand the credit application process required to approve/deny/recommend credit action.
• Observe and understand the process for attracting, establishing, and maintaining new banking relationships.
• Participate in loan committee and credit analyst meetings as needed.
• Provide support to the lending team during internship rotation (review of financial documents, spreadsheets, collateral).
• Various tasks in functional areas of the bank depending on client and business needs.
• Observe and participate in bank events to build business relationships.
