Job summary

Midwestern University in Arizona is seeking a part-time Adjunct Clinical Site Supervisor for the AGPCNP program. The role involves overseeing students’ clinical experiences, site visits, and evaluations to ensure alignment with course objectives and safe, evidence-based patient care.

The successful candidate will hold an MSN or higher with AGPCNP certification, possess current RN and APRN licensure, and have at least two years of primary care NP practice. Prior precepting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Earned graduate degree in nursing (MSN or higher) with AGPCNP preparation.
• Current national AGPCNP certification.
• Current, unencumbered RN license and APRN licensure or authorization to practice, with ability to obtain and maintain licensure where assigned.
• Minimum of two years of clinical practice as an NP in primary care or related setting.
• Current or recent clinical practice demonstrating expertise in evidence-based primary care.
• Ability to assess graduate NP student performance and document clinical evaluations promptly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled clinical site visits to assess student performance and the clinical learning environment.
• Evaluate students’ application of advanced assessment, diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning, safe prescribing, health promotion, disease prevention, and care coordination.
• Assess progression toward clinical competencies appropriate to the student’s level across adolescents, adults, and older adults.
• Collaborate with preceptors to review student strengths, learning needs, and expectations; support consistent evaluation.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to strengthen clinical reasoning, professional behavior, communication, and readiness for NP practice.
• Review clinical documentation, including encounter logs and hours, for completeness and alignment with course requirements; complete site visit reports and evaluations.
• Identify and communicate concerns involving student performance, patient safety, or clinical site opportunities to program personnel.
• Contribute to remediation plan development and follow-up with course faculty and program leadership.
