Job summary

Central Mississippi Planning & Development District is seeking a MAC Center Support Specialist to assist with promoting connections for older adults and coordinating services under BRIC and the Mississippi State Department of Health. The role includes recordkeeping, referrals, and administering the Elderly & Disabled Waiver assessments.

The position supports community outreach, home visits, and client data management while working within the Aging department with standard hours and regional

Qualifications

• Requires effective communication in written and oral form.
• Understanding of social services and health care resources.
• Ability to advocate for clients and mobilize referrals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain MAC Call Center coverage 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Direct callers to appropriate sources for help and document referrals.
• Maintain client data in service tracking systems and coordinate records.
• Provide in-person, phone, email, and walk-in information and referrals.
• Administer Core Standardized Assessment for the Elderly & Disabled Waiver program.
• Coordinate and facilitate financial eligibility determination for the waiver program.
• Assist with MAACLink Power to Care applications.
• Represent the program at health fairs and public speaking events.
