Job description

We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate. We believe that every award earned, every record broken, and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.

At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference, and that matters. Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!

This role is dedicated to the agile transformation of Ochsner Journey Teams. In consultation with other experienced agile experts at Ochsner, via an Agile CoE model, the Agile Transformation Program Manager is the central coach, trainer, and program manager dedicated to improving how Ochsner’s Connected Health organization delivers customer solutions through Journey Teams.

Ochsner’s Journey Teams are evolving. We started with a few last year, and we are scaling up the next 4–6 Journeys. This isn’t a cookie-cutter Scrum rollout; it involves introducing agile concepts, ceremonies, and key roles to engineering teams, with a focus on adaptability and internal promotion. Many employees have transitioned into new roles with this new way of working. The development team members are typically Epic EHR Analysts, not full-stack engineers.

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, health science, or related field.

Work Experience

Required: 7 years of project management experience.

Certifications

Required: PMP or equivalent (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Change Agent, Agile Project Management, Program Management Professional).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Experience in leading agile transformations, assessing agile maturity, training, and fostering process improvements.
  • Ability to create and communicate comprehensive transformation plans.
  • Subject matter expertise in new agile toolsets (e.g., SPM, Click Up).
  • Experience in training and coaching team members across roles, including onboarding new members.
  • Focused training for roles with multiple Scrum responsibilities (e.g., Scrum Masters, Product Owners).
  • Managing and measuring journey team progress via phase-based agile metrics, ensuring adherence and addressing deviations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across facilities.
Job Duties
  • Organize and monitor interconnected projects with strategic teams.
  • Collaborate with leadership on decision-making aligned with strategic plans.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor project managers and staff.
  • Manage deadlines, budgets, and activities.
  • Handle risk mitigation and change management escalation.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Be recognized as an agile expert with deep knowledge of SDLCs, including waterfall, hybrid, Scrum, Kanban, and scaled frameworks like SAFe, DAD, LeSS.
  • Passionate about collaboration and improving patient care through solution delivery, preferably with healthcare experience.
  • Proven program management, change management, and communication skills to keep leadership and teams informed of progress and impediments.

The above is a general overview and not exhaustive. Duties and skills may evolve.
