Job summary

Step Up For Students in the United States seeks a seasoned Scrum Master to apply agile scrum methodologies to drive delivery from initiation through implementation, ensuring successful feature delivery and stakeholder alignment.

The role coordinates cross-functional teams, removes impediments, leads backlog planning, daily scrums and reviews, and coaches the Product Owner while upholding lean, transparent processes and strong collaboration.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of SDLC (required).
• Proactive Planner and Proactive Risk mitigator (required).
• Solid understanding of IT project management.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5+ years of experience in information technology (IT) project management or scrum master on IT projects.
• 3+ years of experience in a Scrum environment.
• Scrum Master certification (required) (SAFe or XP)

Responsibilities

• Serve as Scrum Master for multiple teams and coordinate Sprints and statuses.
• Lead backlog planning, daily scrums, stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Follow the Agile methodologies and keep the team on track.
• Develop project specs, manage the project plan, and work with teams to execute plans.
• Communicate and document sprint status, burn-down and strategic recommendations to team members and senior management.
• Create and maintain sprint dashboards and ensure data is updated.
• Escape issues and risk via appropriate channels.
• Coach the Product Owner and maintain collaborative relationships; remove impediments.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and ensure cadence and rules are followed.
• Coordinate Scrum of Scrums to align multiple teams and organizations.
• Facilitate release planning sessions and manage release process.
• Coordinate with Change Management and Product Support on SDLC and ESSA processes.
• Focus on improving team dynamics, performance, and conflict management.
• Work with Enterprise Architecture and Senior Managers on SOPs.
