Job summary

VG Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Lead & Backlog Analyst to guide delivery teams, maintain a healthy backlog, and ensure smooth sprint execution. This role is primarily remote (about 85%), with occasional onsite work 2-4 times per month in Washington, DC.

You will lead Scrum ceremonies, manage backlog health, translate needs into epics and user stories, and collaborate via Azure DevOps and Microsoft Teams. HUBZone residents receive preference.

Agile Scrum Lead & Backlog Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Lead & Backlog Analyst to guide high-performing delivery teams, maintain a healthy backlog, and ensure smooth sprint execution. This role combines hands-on Scrum leadership with disciplined backlog management and strong analytical skills.It is primarily remote (about 85%), with occasional onsite work 2-4 times per month in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Lead core Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, feature refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Perform daily backlog health checks; manage grooming and prioritization with Product Owners and stakeholders.
• Capture and translate business and technical needs into clear epics, features, and user stories.
• Configure and maintain Azure DevOps boards, sprints, iterations, dashboards, queries, analytics, and delivery plans.
• Facilitate workshops and cross-team forums to define requirements and align priorities.
• Manage team calendars, collaboration cadence, and communications via Microsoft Teams.
• Maintain all position-based Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and update them as needed or requested.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Lead, or Backlog Analyst.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Agile delivery frameworks.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and requirements-analysis skills.
• Ability to maintain backlog discipline and drive predictable, high-quality delivery.
