Job summary

Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company in West Des Moines, IA is offering a 2027 Summer Internship for currently enrolled undergraduates. The paid program runs May 17 to August 6, up to 40 hours per week, with potential to transition to a full-time, permanent position.

You will work with our teams to develop requirements, participate in Agile ceremonies, and support product backlog management in a collaborative, office-based environment.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior.
Majoring in MIS, Computer Science, Business or related degree.
May 2027 graduates will not be eligible.

Responsibilities

Assists in creating and refining user stories by incorporating business feedback.
Participates in Agile Scrum ceremonies: Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives and Backlog Refinement.
Assists Product Owners with the discovery process on projects.
Assists with managing and prioritizing the product backlog.
Assists with managing and prioritizing defect and system support work.
Observes communication between Agile/Project Teams and key stakeholders.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
