Job summary

CGS is seeking an IT Project Manager to design, develop, and oversee IT initiatives for a large federal entity. The role focuses on agile project management, leading teams, and delivering projects on time and on budget.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of IT project management experience, strong leadership, and expertise in Java/JavaScript, API integration, and cloud/on‑prem environments. This position is based in Washington, DC and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Business, Information Systems or related discipline.
• 5 years of project management experience.
• Leadership role in at least 3 IT projects delivered on time and on budget.
• 5+ years designing and developing IT systems using Java/JS/JBOSS Fuse/Angular JS.
• Experience with API management, REST APIs, cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Experience leading Agile scrum teams with developers, testers, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and schedule with regular value delivery.
• Organize and lead project status and working meetings.
• Prepare and distribute progress reports.
• Manage risks and issues; adjust plans to stay on track.
• Develop initiatives for continuous process improvements in Agile.
• Lead team decisions on system implementation and maintenance.
• Create and update business process documentation for testing/training.
• Implement and promote consistent Agile PM processes and metrics.
• Deliver an agile transformation plan from current to desired state.
• Provide technical analysis reports to support agency discussions.
