Job summary

Steampunk, Inc. seeks a Scrum Master/Project Manager to lead an Agile software development team on a federal project.

You will act as Scrum Master and team lead, coordinating with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize backlog and plan releases and roadmaps aligned with client practices. You will mentor the team in Agile principles, remove blockers, manage risks, and ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires DC Metropolitan Area work
• US work authorization with ability to obtain a US government Public Trust clearance
• 4+ years managing IT projects using Agile methodologies
• 4+ years hands-on experience with Scrum and Kanban
• 4+ years hands-on experience in Business Analyst role
• Knowledge of software development life cycle and PM methodologies
• Ability to write user stories and epics, dependencies, and roadmap planning
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders and customers

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Scrum team on a high-priority client project
• Lead and manage Steampunk delivery team members
• Define project scope and schedule for regular delivery of value
• Plan delivery, prepare progress reports, and correct deviations
• Manage risks and issues; escalate and resolve team issues
• Manage customer expectations and stakeholder communications
• Implement effective project governance
• Keep team focused on quality and continuous delivery
• Remove roadblocks and optimize team time
• Leverage organizational resources to boost capacity
• Mentor and develop team members
• Coach team on delivery process, Agile mindset, and client values
• Foster collaboration and self-organization
• Perform hands-on project work including analysis, design, and change management
