Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Plant Repairman to maintain and repair aggregate crushing, washing, and screening plants. The role emphasizes safe, reliable operations and teamwork in high-pressure environments to meet customer needs.

The ideal candidate will have five years in mining or aggregates, hands-on skills with conveyors, crushers, pumps, and welding, and the ability to work outdoors, lift heavy loads, and communicate effectively with customers and vendors. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the mining and/or aggregates industry.
• Proficient operation of mobile repair equipment (manlift, forklift, skid steer).
• Familiarity with MSHA, Cal OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Must provide basic hand tools; CalPortland provides additional specialized tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance of the plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions
• Perform record-keeping requirements relating to safety and maintenance
• Perform repair and maintenance activities including, but not limited to, screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, water pump service, and perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed
• Safe operation of heavy equipment used to perform plant maintenance and repair tasks
• Interface with internal and external customers, vendors, and contractors in a professional manner; excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills are essential to the success of this position
• Additional duties as needed
