Job summary

Walbec Group’s Aggregate Summer 2027 Internship offers hands-on exposure to plant operations at southeastern Wisconsin sites including Waukesha, Racine, Franklin, and Madison. You will shadow plant operators, assist with production activities, material handling, and inventory tracking while adhering to safety procedures.

The internship requires pursuing Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, or Mining, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Geology or Mining.
• Self-starter and able to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in plant safety meetings and follow safety procedures while on job sites.
• Participate and assist in site safety audits.
• Support day-to-day operations at an aggregate crush/wash plant by assisting with production activities and material handling.
• Observe and assist with aggregate processes, including how materials are produced, stockpiled and loaded.
• Assist with tracking production information, materials, and inventory.
• Help collect material samples and observe quality control and plant performance.
• Support manufacturing related projects such as equipment tracking, site documentation and inventory organization.
• Shadow plant operators and foreman to gain hands on exposure to aggregate manufacturing operations.

The Position
