Job Summary

This position involves collecting, preparing, testing, and analyzing samples to determine gradation and characteristics using laboratory apparatus and testing equipment.

The typical schedule during production season is Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays. During maintenance season, hours are from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Post-secondary education and experience, or an AAS degree in civil engineering (desirable but not required).
• Training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Valid driver's license required.
• SDDOT Aggregate/Asphalt Test Technician certification (desirable).
• Limited local travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing of company products at various locations according to established procedures.
• Ensure tests conform to State and ASTM standards.
• Work varied hours as needed.
• Travel locally as required.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Multitask effectively.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, and other safety and environmental regulations, including attending training sessions.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
