Job description

Organization: InCommodities North America

Application deadline: We’ll review applications on an ongoing basis, so don’t wait too long to send yours

Lead the engineering of production AI systems that turn market ideas into execution-ready strategies

We are actively building AI into the firm's core infrastructure, not as an experiment but as a structural advantage for our traders and quants. Our tech setup covers the full execution path – from market data and quantitative strategy to order routing on TT and ICE.

Now, we’re pushing further.

We’re connecting frontier AI models directly to our trading infrastructure, and we’re changing how our engineering team works in the process. More of our systems are built and operated with AI agents in the loop, and the engineering discipline is shifting with it: from writing and reviewing every line to defining the boundaries, contracts, and validation that make agent-produced work safe to depend on. We’re early in that shift and deliberate about it, and we’re adding senior technical leadership to help carry it.

What you’ll do
  • You’ll lead projects across the agentic platform, working day-to-day with the engineers building it
  • You’ll set direction with the team: design decisions, delegating, unblocking, and keeping the work moving
  • You’ll help shape the agent and tooling patterns, the evaluation and guardrail standards, and the roadmap of what gets built next
  • You’ll carry those decisions in front of engineers and in front of the traders who use what we ship
  • You’ll stay hands‑on, designing and building agentic AI systems that operate reliably in production
  • You’ll help us hire as the team grows this year
  • You’ll work closely with traders, quants, and engineers to compress the cycle from market thesis to validated, testable strategy
Your Team

You’ll join a small, focused team working at the intersection of AI, trading, and infrastructure. We move fast, test ideas quickly, and build systems that go straight into real‑world use. You’ll have direct access to the people and systems that drive decisions – and the autonomy to shape how we use AI in trading.

What you bring
  • 5-8 years of hands‑on software development experience
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • You’ve led the technical work of a team, with or without the title
  • You’ve built agentic AI systems that run in production, where real work depended on the output being right
  • You’ve been part of a team that started this shift: AI agents producing real work under engineered constraints, with engineers specifying, bounding, and
  • validating that work
  • You don’t need to have finished that journey. Almost no one has. You were in the room when it started, you know what broke, and your opinions come from contact with reality
  • You write clean, maintainable code that others can build on
  • You’re comfortable working across languages and systems – whether it’s Python, .NET, or something else
  • You’re fluent in English, written and spoken
How you work
  • You take ownership and build things that last
  • You focus on reliability – because your systems don’t just run, they’re depended on
  • You think in systems, not just components
  • You’re curious, hands‑on, and not afraid to challenge how things are done
  • You collaborate closely and value strong, direct feedback

We’re InCommodities North America – and we’re building the full energy trading value chain across US power and gas.

We’ve been trading power in US markets since 2020. Now we’re scaling up – expanding into gas, growing our local teams, and opening new offices across the US.

What sets us apart is our EnergyTech edge. We combine deep market expertise with advanced technology, quantitative models, and a data‑driven mindset to trade smarter, faster, and at scale. That’s how we move energy where it’s needed, 24/7/365 – and why we attract ambitious people who want to rethink the future of energy trading.

Our culture is simple: entrepreneurial, flat, and hands‑on. You’ll get autonomy and trust from day one – and the responsibility to make an impact. We value initiative over titles, thrive in change, and back each other in building one of the most ambitious energy trading companies in North America - with the strength of a global platform behind us.

A people‑first culture

At InCommodities, we win as a team. You’ll work alongside bold, honest, and ambitious people who challenge each other to grow – and get better every day.
Autonomy is real here, and it comes with trust. You’re expected to take ownership and make decisions that move InCommodities forward. Not by asking for permission, but by working with the right people to get it right. You’ve got freedom – and a strong team to back you up.
We care about personal and cultural fit. Not because we expect everyone to be the same, but because we’re building a place where people genuinely enjoy working – and want to stick around.
Expect a casual vibe. We keep a flat hierarchy, no dress code, and no corporate red tape to slow you down. Just trust, teamwork, and a healthy dose of fun along the way. And yes, we like to hang out outside office hours as well.
