Job summary

Consumer Cellular is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to lead an engineering-driven, highly automated SOC. The role focuses on threat hunting, detection engineering, vulnerability management, cloud security, incident response, and people leadership.

The candidate will reside within 50 miles of Scottsdale, AZ, with hybrid or on-site work options. Responsibilities include building automation, guiding platform integrations, and managing MDR partnerships while delivering strong

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in a technical field.
• 6 years of information security experience.
• 5 years combined technical experience with major enterprise systems and leadership.
• 4 years of SOC experience preferred.
• 2+ years building or operating an automation-driven Agentic SOC preferred.
• Ability to lead employees and external partners and drive improvements.
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, and MDR relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation and threat hunting efforts within the SOC.
• Develop and mature proactive threat intelligence reporting.
• Tune detections and create org-specific rules.
• Oversee security platforms and MDR/partner relationships.
• Manage daily SOC operations and incident response.
• Hire, train, and coach SOC staff and contractors.
• Build internal engineering capabilities for automation.
• Maintain operating procedures and post-incident reviews.
• Provide quarterly security ops reporting to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement across detection and response processes.
