Perplexity is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design and implement our next-generation billing system. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing startup and help revolutionize the way people search and interact online.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead new feature development to enable Perplexity’s growing billing needs
• Drive continuous improvements to the reliability, performance, accuracy, and security of our billing system
• Collaborate with peers across engineering, finance, and data science teams to ensure precise measurement and reporting
• Work with security and privacy teams to build secure and compliant checkout processes
• Build tools to proactively monitor user experience and improve customer success

Qualifications

• Familiarity with payment networks, card authorizations, policies, invoicing, subscriptions, disputes, and refunds
• Experience working with large datasets, making data-driven decisions, and familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and data warehousing
• Strong full-stack programming skills
• Proven track record in billing roles
• Self-motivated with ownership mindset
• Passion for shipping quality products
• 4+ years of industry experience

Nice to have

• 2+ years experience with Stripe APIs and SDKs
• Experience with Apple and Google Play billing processes
• Experience with growth experimentation
• Full stack experience

Our cash compensation range for this role is $180,000 - $260,000. Final offers depend on experience and expertise and may vary from listed amounts.

Equity: In addition to salary, equity may be part of the total compensation.
