Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to build agentic modeling and simulation systems for operational planning in Washington, DC.

You will work at the intersection of AI, backend services, and mission software to shorten planning cycles by providing physics-based simulation and AI-assisted planning to operators. Qualifications

Experience building backend services for complex stateful systems.
Hands-on AI/ML or LLM-powered software development.
Proficiency in Python or Go for cross-service integration.
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
Ability to work with operators, warfighters, and SMEs to translate needs into requirements.
Strong judgment around reliability, safety, observability, and debugging for AI systems.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Build agentic workflows accessible through NLP, tools, APIs, and operator-facing interfaces.
Design multi-agent architectures modeling decision-making and plan tradeoffs.
Integrate LLM tool use, planning loops, and guardrails with simulation engines.
Build backend services for scenario creation, entity tasking, and real-time analysis.
Collaborate with warfighters, model/sim experts, autonomy engineers, game/simulation engineers, and mission software teams.
Improve observability and reproducibility of agent behavior and scenarios.
Learn and apply DoD modeling tools like campaign-level and mission-level simulation.
