Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a Modernization Architect to turn complex modernization challenges into clear architectures and roadmaps. You’ll build demos, pilots, or MVPs that prove value and guide delivery teams to successful outcomes across enterprise platforms.

This is a hands-on, client-facing leadership role in the Global Modernization COE, requiring collaboration with sales, consulting, legal, and engineering teams to deliver outcomes that matter to executives and end users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable discipline.
• At least eight years of hands-on experience in solution architecture or related fields.
• Deep expertise in one or more modernization areas (cloud, mainframe, networks).
• Two+ years delivering production-grade agentic AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead client discovery and AI readiness assessments to uncover high-value modernization opportunities.
• Design target-state cloud-native and AI-native architectures using microservices, APIs, containers, and cloud-native patterns.
• Own technical solution definition, including scope, PoC framing, assumptions, dependencies, and baselines.
• Lead technical due diligence and ensure proposed solutions are feasible and deliverable.
