Job summary

HeartFlow, Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager to architect and lead a new Agentic AI initiatives team. Begin hands-on as lead architect and core developer to establish a secure, scalable platform for autonomous multi-agent medical reasoning.

As momentum grows, transition to Engineering Manager, scaling a world-class team, guiding execution, and shaping long-term technical strategy for the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production-grade software.
• 5+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or acting as a formal technical lead for software engineering teams.
• Player-Coach Mentality: willing to be hands-on with code and architecture during the first 6–12 months while building the team.
• Deep, hands-on experience building applications with Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic architectures.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or Go, plus microservices, API design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).
• Passion for greenfield projects; thrives in ambiguity and building systems from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement a robust Agentic AI platform with multi-agent orchestration and memory management.
• Lead and grow the engineering team from hands-on contributor to manager.
• Drive technical strategy and end-to-end feature development for agent-driven products from ideation to production.
• Implement guardrails, evaluation loops, and compliance for FDA-cleared software.
• Collaborate with product managers, clinicians, and data scientists to translate clinical needs into AI architectures.
• Champion CI/CD, testing, logging, and best practices to stay ahead of AI developments.
