Job summary

KLA is hiring an AI/ML Engineer in Ann Arbor, MI to build agentbased AI systems that automate workflows and improve decision making across the enterprise. You will collaborate with senior engineers and product partners to deliver reliable AI services, support agent orchestration, and continuously improve evaluation and monitoring for quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field. Master's and/or PhD preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in AI/ML, with a proven track record of deploying solutions in a production environment.
• Proficiency in Python, or similar languages, with experience in libraries like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, etc. Experience with RAG is essential.
• Strong background in statistics, machine learning algorithms, deep learning, neural networks, and system architecture.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and data processing technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and work effectively in matrix environments.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members and business partners.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies, and system design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy agentbased AI systems, including autonomous and semiautonomous agents that can reason, plan, use tools, and collaborate effectively.
• Support benchmarking efforts for model performance across different deployment environments.
• Collaborate in the design and implementation of scalable and reliable AI/ML systems that support evolving workloads.
• Help ensure solutions align with enterprise standards for security, compliance, observability, and operational efficiency.
• Run focused experiments (e.g., A/B tests, workflow refinements) to improve agent performance.
• Work closely with crossfunctional partners to deliver impactful business outcomes.
