Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an AI-forward engineer to embed with client teams and map how work actually gets done, then design agents that automate workflows across ERP, CRM, ITSM and knowledge repositories.

You’ll advance from manually executed flowcharts to autonomous agents, ensuring governance, auditability, and scalable performance from day one. You will join a forward-deployed cohort close to the mission, delivering value and enabling organizational change across engagements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, technical consulting, or solutions engineering roles.
• 4+ years of experience building applications with generative and agentic AI technologies such as LLMs, retrieval augmented generation, or multiagent orchestration
• Experience deploying LLM-powered systems or AI agents to production, including evaluation, monitoring, and iteration after launch, and integrating with enterprise systems and data sources such as ERP, CRM, ITSM, or knowledge repositories
• Experience developing production code in Python or TypeScript
• Experience working directly with customers or business stakeholders to elicit requirements, map business processes, and guide adoption of new technology
• Knowledge of evaluation techniques for nondeterministic systems, including golden datasets, regression testing, and human-in-the-loop feedback
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and communicate with audiences ranging from engineers to executives
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

• Embed with client teams to observe and document how work actually happens, including workflows, systems, data flows, decision points, and exception paths
• Produce operating maps and automation roadmaps prioritizing high-volume workflows by value and risk
• Design, build, and deploy AI agents that reason, plan, and act across existing tools, APIs, and data sources
• Develop evaluation frameworks, datasets, and regression tests to scale agents from shadow mode to production
• Instrument audit trails, monitoring, and metrics for leadership to see value and hours saved
