Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is hiring an Agentic AI Forward‑Deployed Engineer to join our Global Defense Disruption Cell. You will map workflows, design and deploy AI agents, and scale them from shadow mode to production while training staff and building repeatable patterns for programs.

You will embed with client teams, develop evaluation suites and datasets, and ensure deterministic software with model judgment where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, technical advisory, or solutions engineering roles
• 2+ years of experience building applications with generative and agentic AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, MCP, or multi-agent orchestration
• Experience deploying an LLM-powered system or AI agent into a production environment, including evaluation, monitoring, and iteration after launch
• Experience developing production code in Python or TypeScript
• Experience with enterprise systems and data sources (ERP, CRM, ITSM, or SharePoint)
• Experience working with customers or stakeholders to elicit requirements and drive adoption of new technology
• Knowledge of evaluation techniques for non-deterministic systems (golden datasets, regression testing, human-in-the-loop)
• Ability to operate independently in fast-moving environments and communicate to engineers and executives
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

• Embed with program teams to observe and document how work actually happens, including workflows, systems, data flows, decision points, and exception paths
• Produce operating maps and automation roadmaps prioritizing high-volume workflows by value and risk
• Design, build, and deploy AI agents that reason, plan, and act across the program's tools, APIs, and data sources
• Build on the systems teams already use rather than forcing a migration
• Develop evaluation frameworks, golden datasets, and tests to turn non-deterministic behavior into evidence and scale agents to production
• Instrument audit trails, monitoring, and metrics to show value in hours saved and risk reduced
• Drive adoption and change management, train the workforce, and redefine roles around supervision of automation
• Codify learnings into playbooks and reusable components for the Disruption Cell
