Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton in Honolulu seeks an experienced Agentic AI and Data Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems leveraging GenAI, LLMs, RAG, and autonomous workflows. You will architect modular AI patterns, integrate multiple providers, and optimize latency and cost.

You will collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and product owners to deliver measurable impact, validating hypotheses through eval-driven development and continuous experimentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in AI/ML roles in a professional setting.
• Experience with Python for AI/ML solution development.
• Experience designing and implementing production-grade generative or agentic AI applications.
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, agent workflows, and multi-provider model integration.
• Experience with RAG architectures, evaluation methodologies, and asynchronous/event-driven programming.
• Knowledge of data processing for text, audio, and multi-modal data.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design adaptable agentic AI architectures that support multiple model providers and tool ecosystems.
• Build modular components for prompting, retrieval, orchestration, tool execution, memory management, and evaluation.
• Integrate LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and memory into production-ready systems.
• Apply advanced prompting techniques and orchestration frameworks to enable goal-directed autonomy with guardrails and oversight.
• Design and implement offline and online evaluation frameworks to measure safety and impact.
• Develop data pipelines for ingestion, cleaning, chunking, embedding, indexing, and refresh for RAG/memory.
