Job summary

Cargolux Airlines International in Houston, Texas seeks a Customer Service Agent to handle rate and routing information, schedules, and bookings for air cargo customers. You will coordinate with Sales and Station/Regional teams, ensuring accurate data in both English and metric units, while supporting onward service needs.

Strong MS Office skills are essential; a driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport are required. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in sales and/or customer service.
• Knowledge and experience in air cargo sales and/or freight forwarding is a plus.
• Must be approved for an airport ID by government agencies.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge in the air cargo industry.
• Demonstrate pleasant, business-like conduct reflecting high standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Team-oriented yet capable of working independently.
• Be proactive and take initiative; be willing to learn and improve.

Responsibilities

Job description

Task Responsibilities:

• Disseminates rate and routing information via phone, email.
• Attains and maintains ability to find schedules, rates and trucking data sufficient to efficiently deal with customer requests and follow ups.
• Determines dimensional vs. actual weights, works simultaneously in English and metric systems, knows aircraft floor-loading limitations, and knows when to apply positional vs. volume weights.
• Be thoroughly conversant in booking, ALERT, SPH, and LUX-reservations notification procedures relevant to bookings, as well as how to find relevant data for destination import restrictions.
• In addition to responsibilities otherwise enumerated herein, the Customer Service Agent shall perform those other assignments as directed by the Sales or Station/Regional Manager.

Essential Requirements For The Position:

Working Conditions:

• The position is based in Houston, Texas.
• The position demands a regular presence in the office and requires vacation and other absences to be planned so as to avoid conflicting with service needs.
• Flexibility may be needed with working hours.
• Health Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental. Additional ancillary plans available at low cost to the employee.
• Retirement: Short waiting period to participate. Up to 6% employer match.
• Paid time off: start off with 10 vacation days a year (on an accrual basis). 48 sick hours as of date of hire, 9 holidays.
• Hourly rate: 23.00-26.50 USD
