Avoca is hiring an Agent Engineer in New York City to embed with customers, understand their workflows, and design tailored AI solutions that deliver immediate impact. You will build the infrastructure for conversational AI, APIs, integrations, and monitoring, translating business needs into scalable deployments.

You’ll work with product teams to shape the roadmap, operate autonomously in fast-paced environments, and contribute to high-value projects that redefine how home services engage

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional work.
• Experience delivering AI/ML or conversational AI solutions is a plus.

About the Role

As an Agent Engineer, you’ll embed directly with our customers, understanding their workflows, designing tailored AI solutions, and deploying systems that deliver immediate impact. You’ll operate at the cutting edge of conversational AI, working closely with our product team to shape strategy based on what you see in the field.

What You’ll Bring

3+ years in software engineering, preferably with backend or systems experience.

Strong communicator able to work seamlessly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus: experience with vector databases, LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI agent frameworks.

Comfort working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.

Eagerness to work in person with us in NYC full time.
