Job summary

001 Brown & Brown, Inc is seeking an Agency Development Manager (ADM) to enhance our agency distribution channel. The ADM will focus on driving qualified quote submissions while partnering with agencies to provide training and ongoing support.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, along with comprehensive health benefits, a structured 401(k), and employee assistance programs. The role is remote but requires frequent travel within a territory including New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2‑4 years of Property & Casualty industry experience.
  • Active P&C insurance license (2‑20) required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for in-person agency visits.

Job description

Built on meritocracy, Brown & Brown seeks an Agency Development Manager (ADM) to expand and strengthen our agency distribution channel. The ADM will drive qualified quote submissions, increase written premium, and grow policies in force while partnering with agency partners to provide training, consultation, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and nurture relationships with new and existing assigned agents to drive qualified risk selection and foster long‑term partnerships.
  • Generate new premium growth through interaction with new and existing agencies via phone calls, emails, and face‑to‑face visits.
  • Identify and develop new agency opportunities through prospecting.
  • Deliver training and ongoing support to agencies, ensuring clarity on systems, products, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert on product offerings and core systems, staying informed on industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Provide account management support for agencies and maintain accurate records of interactions using Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure consistent and effective agency communication.
  • Proactively monitor key performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement or additional training.
  • Work with product management to communicate competitive information and convey necessary product modifications or new opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed individual or team goals consistently.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Active P&C insurance license (2‑20).
Key Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 2‑4 years of Property & Casualty industry experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently for in‑person agency visits within the assigned territory, including overnight stays, as needed.
  • Positive attitude and ability to navigate challenges, adapt to changing priorities or market conditions.
  • Integrity and professionalism in all interactions, representing the company consistently.
  • Team‑oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver results in a high‑volume environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software such as Salesforce.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years P&C experience.
  • Previous Personal Lines Excess & Surplus experience.
  • Previous account management or outside field sales experience.
  • Strong familiarity with Salesforce CRM.
  • Polished presentation skills for virtual and in‑person product training.
  • Comfortable speaking with new people daily via in‑person visits, telephone, or virtual meetings.
  • Bilingual proficiency with Spanish.
Location & Travel

The role is remote with frequent travel for in‑person agency visits within the assigned territory of NewYork, NewJersey, Maryland, Virginia, and WestVirginia. Candidates must reside within or near this territory.

Pay Range

$70,000.00 – $100,000.00 Annual
