AGAR Structural Steel Fabricator/Erector

*Safety Sensitive Position*

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Shop PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel components such as beams, columns, RTU frames, etc. for various construction projects. This role requires expertise in interpreting blueprints, operating machinery, and ensuring precision in the fabrication and erection process.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications using various tools and equipment.
  • Perform welding, cutting, and shaping of steel materials to meet project requirements, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Assemble fabricated steel components on‑site, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and adherence to safety regulations during erection.
  • Erect materials on‑site in accordance with shop drawings.
  • Work with cranes, scissors lifts, forklifts.
  • Interpret and comprehend detailed shop drawings to execute fabrication and erection accurately.
  • Conduct quality checks to verify the integrity and accuracy of fabricated steel components and the installation process.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for self and team members.

Qualifications
  • 3 years proven experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
  • Expertise in using fabrication tools, welding equipment and machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of welding and steel construction methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Pre‑employment physical and drug screening.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.

Physical Demands

Physical demands are based on the ability to perform the following actions throughout a 9‑hour period of work 5 days a week.

  • Exert oneself physically over long periods of time.
  • Bend stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and other extremities.
  • Use one’s abdominal muscles and lower back to lift continuously over time without fatiguing.
  • Exert maximum muscle force to lift, pull, or carry objects up to 100 pounds on occasion, and up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Keep or regain one’s body balance or stay upright.
  • Quickly move the arms and legs.
  • Make fast and repeated movements of the body, fingers and hands.
  • Keep the hand and arm steady while making a movement.
  • Coordinate movements of two or more limbs together while sitting, standing, or lying down.
  • Stand and walk throughout an extended workday.
  • Use legs, hands and arms on a consistent basis for manual labor.
  • Climb and/or balance yourself.
  • Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required.

Shop and field to include new construction, existing buildings, residential, etc.

Position Type

Full‑Time/Regular Hours Monday through Friday, 7AM – 4PM

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Compensation, benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision/Life/Short-Term Disability/Long-Term Disability and more, after waiting period.
