Job summary

H2ajobs in Nebraska is seeking farm laborers to participate in inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. You will operate tractors and augers, load carts and trucks, and assist with repairs to farm equipment and facilities. English proficiency required; drivers license preferred.

Housing and meals are provided by the employer, with weekly transport to grocery stores when cooking facilities are available. Experience advertised as three months is minimal.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, grade, sort, store, and post-harvest treat crops.

• Operate tractors and GPS-equipped machinery for field work (grain cart, combine).
• Load inputs and transport crops to fields and storage facilities.

Job description

Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as grain cart, combine to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Must speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
