Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking farm labor workers in South Dakota to inspect, grade, sort, store crops, and load hay. You may also operate tractors and machinery for fertilizing, spraying and harvesting, while assisting with animal care and building maintenance.

Employer provides housing and meals, with weekly transportation to grocery stores when cooking facilities are provided. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and obtain a driver’s license within 30 days are required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, grade, sort, and store crops; load hay.
• Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements and equipment.
• Operate tractors and machinery to fertilize, spray and harvest crops.
• Care for live animals—feeding, processing, birthing, moving, marketing.
• Repair farm buildings and fences; attach implements with hand tools.

Job description

Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as loading, hauling hay; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to fertilize, spray and harvest crops such as hay, silage; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Attend to live farm animals such as feeding, processing, birthing, moving, hauling, marketing; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will provide three (3) meals per day to the worker Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 75 lbs.
