Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking Farm Worker in Kansas for hands-on farming tasks, including planting, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. The role requires operating tractors and other equipment, supervising crop quality, and monitoring yields and costs.

Employer provides housing and meals and may offer transportation to stores. Three months of recent experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required. English fluency is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Record crop information such as pesticide use, yields, or costs.
• Direct and monitor planting and harvesting of crops.
• Inspect, grade, sort, and store crops; load to bins, silos, or trailers.
• Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and equipment.
• Operate tractors, combines, and other machinery used in planting and harvesting.
• Load inputs and transport crops to fields and storage facilities.
• Maintain grounds, clean work areas, and manage inventory.
• Handle pests and manage litter fertilizer as needed.
• Attend to live farm animals and ensure welfare.

Job description

Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with John Deere GPS) such as tractor, combine, spreader to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread litter fertilizer and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Attend to live farm animals such as cattle; Weigh containers and record weights and identifying information; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers; Package crops. Must speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
