Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a Design Engineer to design and redesign feed mixers for livestock using Creo. You will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with product management, sales, manufacturing, and customers for assigned projects.

Requirements include a BS in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering and 1+ year experience designing agricultural or heavy equipment; strong Creo 3D CAD skills; knowledge of metal fabrication, machining and welding is helpful; farm

Qualifications

BS Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
1+ year designing agricultural or heavy mobile equipment (internships count).
Strong 3D CAD skills; Creo is used in house.
Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining and welding is helpful.
Farm background would be wonderful.

Responsibilities

Design or redesign feed mixers for livestock using Creo.
Develop and evaluate product designs based on customer needs, manufacturability, cost and safety.
Create design specifications with product management, sales, manufacturing and customers.
Develop test plans and direct testing of the design.
Set product quality and tolerance specifications for designs.
Design and select hydraulic, power transmission and structural components.
Collaborate with manufacturing on tooling and new processes.
Stay informed on new products and competitors.
