Job summary

Beacon Credit Union - Indiana offers a 12-week paid summer internship for Summer 2027. The program is project-based with exposure to various areas of the credit union to gain a broad understanding of interrelated functions. If you’re interested in a particular area, more time can be allocated there.

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. The internship supports interests in sales, analytics, and related functions, with potential for continued opportunities during school

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned project(s) to improve efficiencies in the ag lending department.
• Accompanies Loan Officers on farm visits and documents findings.
• Learns how tax returns and financial statements are reviewed and about the risk rating process.
• Shadows Loan Processors to learn basic loan documentation and processing.

Job description

Note : This position could be based out of various BCU office locations, preferably in northern Indiana.

Role

This summer 2027 internship position will be projected-based and provide the chosen intern will exposure to various areas of the department, and credit union, to gain a general understanding of the different functions and how each interrelate to one another. If the intern has interest in a particular area (sales, analytical etc.), we will work to provide more time in that job function.This is a 12-week (typically) paid summer program, with opportunity to return to work over school breaks.

Potential Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes assigned project(s) to further the mission and create efficiencies specific to the ag lending department.
• Accompanies Loan Officers on farm visits and then documents the file with information learned on the visit.
• Works with Credit Analysts to gain knowledge on how tax returns and financial statements are reviewed and learns about the annual review and risk rating process.
• Shadows Loan Processors to learn the basics of loan documentation and loan processing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
