Job summary

Farm Credit Illinois is seeking motivated college students to join our team as Generalist Interns for Summer 2027. This paid internship offers exposure to multiple departments and hands-on experience in agricultural finance.

Farm Credit Illinois is seeking motivated college students to join our team as Generalist Interns in the Summer of 2027. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to explore multiple departments and gain hands‑on experience in agricultural finance.

Farm Credit Illinois is an agricultural financial cooperative owned by more than 17,400 farmers, rural landowners, and agribusiness voting stockholder members in the southern 60 counties of Illinois. What You Will Do:

• Work with a variety of departments to complete meaningful projects and job shadowing experiences based on your career interests.
• Explore careers in sales, credit, appraisal, business optimization, and more.
• Apply your skills in Microsoft Office and communication to contribute to real business needs.
• Gain real‑life experience in agricultural lending through training on the life cycle of a loan, including hands‑on credit analysis and application of the 5 C’s of credit.
• Participate in a mentor program and team‑building activities while learning about agriculture in central and southern Illinois.
• Receive a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 per hour, living stipend, reimbursement for business travel, and paid leave in accordance with the Paid Leave for All Workers Act.
• Work full‑time (M–F, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. May 17, 2027 – August 5, 2027) from our Mahomet headquarters with occasional travel across the southern 60 counties of Illinois. Summer housing in or around Champaign County is required.

Eligibility: Must be enrolled as a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters with the intent to be enrolled as students in Fall 2027 as well. Preferred majors include ag business, ag econ, business, or finance.
