Job summary

Beacon Credit Union is offering a 12-week paid summer internship in the agricultural lending department. The program provides exposure to various areas of the department and the credit union to understand how functions interrelate.

Interns can explore areas of interest such as sales or analytics, with opportunities for more time in preferred functions. As a current college student, you will support loan officers, credit analysts, and processors while learning the loan process and risk

Qualifications

• Current college student pursuing a degree in a related field.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision.
• Extremely detail oriented with a high level of trust and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned project(s) to further the mission and create efficiencies specific to the ag lending department.
• Accompanies Loan Officers on farm visits and documents the file with information learned on the visit.
• Works with Credit Analysts to learn how tax returns and financial statements are reviewed and learns about the annual review and risk rating process.
• Shadows Loan Processors to learn the basics of loan documentation and loan processing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Note : This position could be based out of various BCU office locations, preferably in northern Indiana.

Role

This summer 2027 internship position will be projected-based and provide the chosen intern will exposure to various areas of the department, and credit union, to gain a general understanding of the different functions and how each interrelate to one another. If the intern has interest in a particular area (sales, analytical etc.), we will work to provide more time in that job function.This is a 12-week (typically) paid summer program, with opportunity to return to work over school breaks.
