Job summary

The YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood is seeking an Afterschool Group Leader for the 2025-2026 school year at Be Me, serving Kinder to 5th-grade students in New York, NY. The role focuses on creating a warm, inclusive afterschool community and supporting program activities from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, experience with youth, and the ability to work within health and safety protocols while contributing to a collaborative

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with youth in after-school or community-based settings.
• Ability to pass background checks and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, nurturing environment for K–5 youth.
• Assist with program setup and supervision during activities.
• Enforce health and safety protocols per DOH guidelines.
• Support Be Me program goals and participate in staff meetings.
