Job summary

Grandview School District is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to support McClure Elementary’s 21st Century program. You will identify struggling students, provide guided reading and math practice in small groups, and assist with tutorials under supervision.

You will participate in training, help administer pre- and post-assessments, and collaborate with 21st Century tutors and site staff to implement programming across K-5.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Job related experience is desired.
• Minimum qualifications: Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must meet the minimum requirement for a paraprofessional (Hold an associates of arts degree, have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an institution of higher learning or have passed the state paraeducator assessment).

Responsibilities

• Assist with identifying struggling students in grades K-5 who would benefit from small group assistance during guided independent reading/math practice and/or with tutorials.
• Participate in all training related to the components of the support you will be implementing.
• Assist 21st Century tutors in administering pre- and post- assessments, as appropriate.
• Work with 21st Century tutors and site supervisor to implement 21st Century programming.
