Gang Alternative, Inc. is seeking a Certified Teacher to support afterschool programs in Broward County.

The role is part-time (10 hours/week, Mon-Fri) and focuses on academic enrichment, lesson delivery, and data collection under the supervision of the Program Manager, M-PACT. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in education, has experience with children, and can communicate in English, Creole, or Spanish.

Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree in education.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Proficiency in English/Creole/Spanish preferred.
• Experience servicing a diverse or multicultural community preferred.
• Computer literacy required.
• Must have access to a licensed, insured personal vehicle for local travel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate aptitude levels in math and reading to place students for academic growth.
• Conduct pre-, mid-, and post-tests on math and reading.
• Provide homework assistance to middle and high school students.
• Develop teaching materials and study guides to supplement lessons.
• Ensure child safety and confidentiality, and supervise students.
• Prepare weekly activity reports and maintain activity calendar.
• Communicate student needs to the Program Manager weekly.
