LeafSpring Schools in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Afterschool Teacher to support preschool and school-age children during out-of-school hours. You will plan and lead hands-on activities, games, and group projects to foster creativity and social development, while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to multitask, follow program structure, and adapt to children's needs.
• Experience in afterschool programs, summer camps, child care, recreation, or youth development preferred.
• Coursework or credentials in education, child development, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily program routines including creative activities, homework assistance, snack, and outdoor play
• Assist with planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children's interests and developmental needs
• Supervise and actively participate with children during activities, games, and free play
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program environment aligned with state licensing regulations
• Foster independence, teamwork, and positive peer interactions using positive guidance strategies
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a welcoming, enriching afterschool environment
