Your Role as an Afterschool Teacher

As an Afterschool Teacher, you’ll help lead a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for preschool/school-age children during out-of-school hours. You’ll support the planning and facilitation of hands-on activities, games, and group projects that promote creativity, teamwork, and social development. You’ll also help manage daily routines, build positive relationships, and ensure every child feels welcomed and supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily program routines including creative activities, homework assistance, snack, and outdoor play
• Assist with planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children’s interests and developmental needs
• Supervise and actively participate with children during activities, games, and free play
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program environment aligned with state licensing regulations

• Ability to multitask, follow program structure, and adapt to children’s needs
• High school diploma or GED required
• Coursework or credentials in education, child development, or related field (preferred but not required)
