Job summary

Children’s Aid in New York City seeks an Assistant Program Coordinator to support the Bicultural Bilingual School’s afterschool and summer camp operations. You’ll help plan, organize, and supervise elementary group leaders and program activities, while assisting with data input across agency systems.

The role collaborates with the School Age Director to implement agency missions, policies, and ensure quality youth programming.

Qualifications

• 5 Years of experience working with school age Youth and/or families in community-based programs.
• Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of youth development principles and youth programs.
• Experience in curricula development and implementation.
• Ability to interface with diverse youth and staff populations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
• Bilingual/English Spanish is a plus.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and database operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the School- Age Director in the overall operation of all school-age programs and summer camp programs.
• Supervise and evaluate School Age program staff.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs, assist with monthly observations and provide feedback for staff.
• Develop and maintain relationships with youth, families, and school staff.
• Create and update program rosters, sign-out sheets, and monthly attendance sheets.
• Track attendance and monitor monthly chronic absenteeism.
• Communicate with parents regarding incidents, attendance, etc.
• Assist with recruitment and registration for all programs.
• Maintain confidential client files and organize documentation.
• Be a positive role model for children and staff.
• Interact with parents to understand youth needs and support.
